Restoring Worn Shafts Instead of Replacing Them
We specialise in repairing worn bearing journals and working surfaces of motor shafts, crusher transmission shafts and rotors for power, mining, metallurgy, cement and chemical plants. Arc spraying, electric brush plating, laser cladding and cold welding build the worn surface back to original dimensions with a hard, bonded coating - typically at up to 70 percent below the cost of a new shaft.
Turbine and Impeller Blade Protection
For hydro turbine blades we apply tungsten carbide coatings with high hardness, strong adhesion and low porosity. Using the imported Praxair JP-8000 HVOF system with WC-Co and NiCr-Cr3C2 powders, blades are sprayed without deformation and without affecting rotor dynamic or static balance, and can be re-coated repeatedly for water-erosion and corrosion protection of last-stage steam turbine blades.
Typical Repairs
- Motor shaft bearing journal restoration
- Crusher transmission shaft diameter build-up
- Rotor and impeller wear repair
- Steam turbine last-stage blade anti-erosion coating
How We Work
Send the shaft drawing or worn-part photos together with the working condition. We propose the repair process, coating system and finishing method, then repair on site or in our 5,200 m2 workshop with full inspection report.
