Artificial joint implants need a porous, biocompatible surface for bone integration. We plasma spray titanium bond coats and hydroxyapatite top coats on hip joint heads and cups with controlled porosity and surface roughness.
The process has been applied in series production at medical device companies. We supply complete plasma spray systems, fixtures and the coating process package.
