Plasma Spraying Ball Valve Bodies and Valve Plates

Valve internals fail through a combination of erosion, corrosion and metal-to-metal contact. A plasma sprayed coating on the ball, seat and plate gives a hard, low-friction surface that keeps the seal tight and extends inspection intervals.

Depending on the media, we apply tungsten carbide for abrasive slurries, chromium oxide for corrosive service, or a ceramic for high temperature duty. After spraying, the seal faces are ground and lapped so that the valve still closes bubble-tight.

We coat both spare parts and new valve bodies in production quantities.
