0.2 mm Zirconia Coating on Mini Graphite Crucibles

Small crucibles are the hardest parts to coat consistently - the wall is thin, the geometry is tight and the coating has to be even because the thermal load is concentrated. This clip shows a 0.2 mm zirconia layer being sprayed on to miniature graphite crucibles.

Because the parts are small, we spray them in batches on rotating fixtures and control the pass speed to hold the thickness within a narrow band. Thickness is checked after spraying and can be adjusted for customers who need a thinner or heavier layer.

Thickness range for this type of work is typically 0.05 to 0.5 mm.
