Non-Stick-Tin Coatings for Soldering Iron Tips
We spray nickel-chromium alloy or NiCr-chromium carbide coatings on electric soldering iron tips. The coating withstands 650 C, prevents solder wetting and resists corrosion - extending tip life dramatically in high-volume soldering lines.
Process Options
- Arc spraying with NiCr alloy wire
- HVOF supersonic spraying with NiCr-Cr3C2 powder, coating thickness about 0.6 mm (6 wires)
HVOF NiCr-Cr3C2 Coating Advantages
- High bond strength, low porosity, dense coating with no delamination
- Lower particle temperature means light oxidation and excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance
- High particle velocity with narrow powder size distribution (10-53 um)
- Low surface roughness
- Wide spray distance window without quality loss
- Thicker coatings than detonation spraying with improved residual stress
- High spray efficiency and easy operation
The same process family also produces wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, thermally conductive, insulating and sealing coatings on demand.
